چکیده

PurposeCardiac radioablation (CR), a new treatment for cardiac arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation, has had promising clinical outcomes to date. There is consequent desire rapid adoption. However, CR presents unique challenges radiation therapy, it paramount that adoption be performed safely effectively. Recent reviews comprehensively detail patient selection, history, outcomes, toxicities but only briefly mention the technical aspects of CR. To address this knowledge gap, review collates currently available regarding technology choice procedural details help inform guide clinics considering implementing their own program, aid technique standardization, highlight areas require further development or verification. Methods MaterialsOriginal preclinical scientific articles sufficiently detailed aspects, including pretreatment electrophysiology imaging, motion analysis management techniques, planning, and/or delivery, were identified within comprehensive literature search.ResultsNineteen 18 deliveries on live subjects. The these diverse: Preclinical treatments have been with brachytherapy, photons, protons, carbon ions, photons using conventional, robotic, magnetic resonance imaging guided systems. Other demonstrated similar variability.ConclusionsThis summarizes highlights complexity current variability need standardized reporting multicenter multiplatform evaluation potential significant technological improvements in monitoring maximize selected patients arrhythmia. Ablative Radiotherapy as a Noninvasive Alternative to Catheter Ablation for Cardiac Arrhythmias

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Stereotactic radioablation is a commonly utilized technology to noninvasively treat solid tumors with precision and efficacy. Using a robotic arm mounted delivery system, multiple low-dose ionizing radiation beams are delivered from multiple angles, concentrating ablative energy at the target tissue. Recently, this technology has been evaluated for treatment of cardiac arrhyth...
